OUTLOOK – TIME NOT UPDATE WHEN COPY OR MOVE MAIL FROM PST ON CACHE MODE

hello

On outlook when you move or copy a Mail from inbox folder to PST file that attached to running outlook you will see that PR_LAST_MODIFICATION_TIME property is update to the date and time that you move or copy the message.

To verify the change of the date and time we will use the MFCIMAPI program.

the Ver of the MFCMAPI depends on the version of the Outlook.

first we need to log on to the Mailbox profile :

Select the Profile of the Mailbox

on Mailbox level you can see that the date and the time are update

on Message level you can see that the date and the time are update

The problem Begin when you move or copy a Message From inbox or other folder to PST ON Cache Mode .

in this case the PR_LAST_MODIFICATION_TIME property is not update

The reason :

When the Email is moved from an Inbox folder to a PST file when Outlook is in Cached Mode, the Email is moved between the OST file and the PST file on your computer. In Online Mode however, Outlook will always communicate with the Exchange Server: in this case the Exchange Server will be aware of the changes you make.
